There are so many great holiday commercials to choose from. You can’t think about holiday commercials without thinking about Coca-Cola.

Well, it’s getting close to Christmas so I thought it might be time to share some Christmas commercials with you. This one goes back quite a-ways. I chose it because it made me laugh. See how times have changed.

This is a sketch I recently worked up for a Big Idea discussion. I know. If only I could have been around to clean up Van Gogh’s brushwork, right?

In my defense, the drawing you see was sketched in the margins of a brainstorm, meant to give a very quick visual of a layout idea. But, when I showed the idea to my Art Director, it was invaluable in quickly relating the concepts.

At 6AM, we like to say we “think differently.” We look at our clients and try to get inside their brands, mold their websites, make their ads pop off the screen or stand out when you’re driving down the highway. I like to think we’re able to do all this not just because we have the best team of professionals, but because we work together.

In the old days (try about two years ago) when it came to discussing political issues on your brand’s social media accounts, there was one prevailing message: DON’T DO IT! There was no surer way, the experts would tell you, to get rapid backlash against your brand and to lose customers.

Then, the 2016 election happened. Today more and more brands have made a habit of dipping their toes into the political pool. Sure, addressing social and political issues on social media can be a digital bear trap. But, for many businesses, it can also be a way to stand out from the crowd, affirm brand values and even reach new prospects.
