First off, the quality of the commercial is incredible. The concept of a child’s imagination is brought to life with how well it was filmed, designed and executed. The overall concept is well thought out because it marries the innocence, optimism and software to the technology, engines and cutting edge innovation, creating an interesting commercial that audiences are drawn to. The commercial is successful because all aspects – execution, aesthetic, and message – work together really well. GE does work on different types of projects that can range from aviation to healthcare and instead of hitting the audience hard with facts, it instead takes a different and softer approach that draws in the audience. I also like it because it shows women excelling and sends a message to all girls that they can be successful, just like their moms.
This commercial was one of the ads nominated for the Emmy for Most Outstanding Commercial in 2014. It had over 3,000 national airings and its YouTube video had over 2 million views. It received a large reach.
